The trick was developed one night in my university accommodation called 'The Beeches'. While spending a night in enjoying a night in with friends my friend showed me a new way to squeeze open a lighter from there just mucking about this trick was born. The explanation is long, but bare with me. Hold the the lighter by the cap with index finger and thumb hinges towards the sky. squeeze against your palm using your middle finger pushing on the cap and it should open. Use your middle finger to help turn the lighter 180 degrees so that the chimney is pointing down. Swing into your hand and light against your palm. Swing out of your hand so that the chimney is now pointing up, while still holding the lighter by the cap with index and thumb. Start to spin anti clockwise down your fingers (try to keep your fingers near the hinges), around the middle in-between the middle finger and ring finger, around your ring finger so that it is between your ring finger and pinkie. From here grab the cap between your middle finger and index finger (the back of the index finger IE the nail side) lift the lighter and place between your ring finger and middle finger. Spin clock wise around your middle finger using your index to help so that it is between your index and middle finger. Now change your grip so that you are now holding the lighter between your middle finger and thumb. Change your grip again so that you are holding the lighter between index and thumb. Spin the lighter inverting it so that the chimney is facing down spin the lighter in your palm 180 clockwise. Hold the lighter between your ring finger and middle finger start to spin your lighter in a clockwise manner around your middle finger (this will turn the lighter so that the chimney is now pointing up). Hold the cap of the lighter between your index finger and thumb (this ending is the same as ten spinner). Spin the lighter into your hand turn it 180 degrees spin round your middle finger again and finally close. Sorry if the instructions are not clear but that’s the way it is done.
